Volunteer Opportunities

We are in constant need of volunteers to serve the young people of our parish. Opportunities to serve are:

Parish School of Religion - Grades Pre-K through 5th

The elementary school children are guided by their catechists and parents on a journey through religious studies and life applications. They learn to grow in their faith through prayer, service, Bible stories, Church teachings, music, crafts and more. Volunteer opportunities include classroom leaders and assistants, as well as administrative help. Classes are held on two Sundays each month in the Activity Center after the 10:00am Mass. Teachers and teaching assistants are needed to guide the children in their faith formation and religious studies. Contact: Sarah Neau, Church Office

Parish School of Religion - Junior High & High School

The combined formation program for the youth guide them through lessons covering Sacred Scripture, Person of Christ, Paschal Mystery, Church, Sacraments, Morality, Social Justice, & Vocations, as well as the Creed, the Church, Prayer, & Social Justice. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate these lessons as both mentors and leaders of faith. Contact: Sarah Neau, Church Office

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children ages 3/4 years old through First Grade are the primary focus of Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Each Sunday during the 10:00am Sunday Mass these young children are dismissed during the Liturgy of the Word to participate in the reading and sharing of the Gospel story. The children, in this smaller setting, have an opportunity to grow deeply in the Gospel message. The children return to join the congregation after the Intercessory Prayers. Volunteers spend about 30 minutes in preparation. The parish office provides all the supplies necessary so everything is ready before the Sunday Mass. Volunteers are still able to attend the same Mass and fulfill their Sunday obligation. Junior helpers are also needed to help the adult leaders guide the children through the lesson. Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is huge! It is held in June. This exciting week long faith-based program ministers to children ages four-years old to 5th grade and it takes an incredible amount of volunteers for its success. Children journey though the Bible with storytelling, crafts, games, and music. Adult volunteers are asked to be classroom leaders, craft helpers, games leaders and music leaders. Junior Helper volunteers ages 6th grade to 12th grade are called upon to assist the adult helpers in all areas, as well as story-telling. This event is very exciting and fun for all ages. We are in need of adult volunteers to help with this ministry. All adult volunteers, young and old are encouraged to call the parish office to sign-up. Contact: Sarah Neau, Church Office
