Sunday Reflection Small Groups
What did you think of THAT homily? Invite some friends to talk about it!
In the early Church, the "church" was made up of small communities, usually of friends and neighbors who gathered to share and strengthen their faith, celebrate the Eucharist and be sent forth to live their lives as followers of Jesus' Way. We are called to do the same. In this time of Covid-19 our experience of celebrating Eucharist has necessarily changed, but our call to live lives as followers of Jesus remains.
Our online presence the last several Sundays has been phenomenal - we are hearing the Word and listening to Fr. Michael "break open" the Word together in great numbers! Let's build on that by gathering in small groups to reflect on our Sunday experience of hearing the Word of God and hearing the homily!
What? Small groups meeting online or by telephone
Why? To talk about the Sunday readings or the homily
How? By using Zoom, FaceTime or other of your choosing
When? Anytime during the week
Who? YOU and a few friends
Would you be willing to invite a few friends/neighbors to meet together with you for this? The parish will send a guiding question. For example, for this week we ask: What "courageous hope" do you have or need this week? or What does "courageous hope" look like in your life right now? But that's it - just a short moment in the week to keep the experience of Sunday alive by gathering to talk about it! Take a picture of your screen group, send it to Ellen to put on our website, and encourage our whole community to Rise Up!So ... set a time to meet, choose a platform and invite a few people to join you for a short time (about ½ an hour) sometime during the week, then let Sr. Janelle know (firstname.lastname@example.org) that you are the contact person and we'll be on our way!
